Job Description:

The Automotive Workshop Advisor serves as a vital link between customers and the automotive service team. The primary responsibility is to ensure a seamless customer service experience by effectively communicating and coordinating vehicle maintenance and repair services. This role requires a strong blend of automotive knowledge, customer service skills, and organizational abilities.

Responsibilities:

- Greet customers and consult with them to understand their vehicle maintenance or repair requirements.

- Provide accurate cost estimates for services based on the customer's concerns and the technician's evaluation.

- Schedule service appointments and ensure the efficient allocation of work to the service team.

- Act as a liaison between customers and the service technicians, providing clear and detailed information about the required work on vehicles.

- Keep customers informed about the progress of service or repair work, including any additional services needed or changes in the timeline.

- Address customer inquiries, issues, and complaints in a professional and timely manner.

- Collaborate with the parts department to ensure the availability of necessary components for vehicle repairs.

- Utilize computer systems or software to maintain service records and manage appointments.

- Uphold a clean and organized service area, promoting a professional and welcoming environment for customers.

Requirements:

- Previous experience in an automotive service advisory role or a related position within the automotive industry.

- Solid understanding of vehicle systems, maintenance, and repair processes.

- Excellent customer service and communication skills.

- Proficiency in using automotive service software or management systems.

- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

- Ability to work collaboratively with a team and coordinate effectively between customers and technicians.

- Problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to addressing customer concerns.

- High school diploma or equivalent. Additional training or certifications in automotive service advisory roles are advantageous.

Responsibilities:

- Utilise product knowledge and available resources to identify and source the correct parts in a timely manner.

Vehicle Inspection:

Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles to identify issues and assess their overall condition.
Use diagnostic tools and equipment to identify mechanical, electrical, and electronic problems.
Diagnosis and Repair:

Diagnose problems based on customer complaints, inspection results, and computerized diagnostic tests.
Perform a range of repairs, including engine, transmission, brake, steering, suspension, and electrical system repairs.
